Hi friends, I’m Kym—the maker, founder, and heart behind Wax Crescent, a boutique candle brand based in Longmont, Colorado. What started as a small hobby in my kitchen—hand-pouring candles for myself to avoid the toxins found in mainstream candle lines—has grown into something I could have only dreamed of.
In June 2025, I opened the doors to my very first retail store and candle studio in downtown Longmont. This space has quickly become the heart and home of Wax Crescent, and I’m so excited to invite you into it.

From our minimalist, modern candle design to our carefully layered scent combinations, everything in the shop is designed to help you create a home that feels warm, intentional, and uniquely yours.
I often say my creativity is my light—it’s the most precious thing I have to share with the world. Wax Crescent is how I’ve learned to honor that light, and my hope is that every candle helps you honor yours, too.
Not Just Me: The Team (and Louie!)
Although I started this business on my own, I’m no longer doing it alone. Louie, my sweet dog, is always by my side in the studio (usually curled up in the coziest corner). And today, I’m lucky to have a fantastic team of women who help me bring Wax Crescent to life every day. Together, we’re able to make candles, run the shop, and connect with the community that has embraced us so beautifully here in Longmont.
