Life Lately: A Little Magic in Longmont

Wax Crescent Storefront in downtown Longmont. Stocked with curated gifts, hand poured soy candles and holiday gifts and a place to make your own candles and take a candle-making class

Life lately feels really magical. I told my sister last week that I feel like I’m living in a Hallmark movie. Every morning, I get to walk to work with my dog, Louie, and head into the cutest little downtown—full of charm, friendly faces, and small town ease.

Once I open the shop, I brew a fresh pot of really good coffee (I’m currently making my way through all the Onyx Coffee varieties we carry—it’s been such a fun ritual). Then I turn on some music, light a candle, and settle in. Most days, I’m pouring candles in the back studio while people browse the shelves out front. There’s something so grounding about it—being surrounded by scent and wax and warmth, and getting to greet people who are genuinely excited to be there.

The shop is such a dream come true. I’ve filled it with things I truly love—my hand-poured soy candles and a collection of curated goods that I’ve picked with care. Some of my personal favorites? The lavender eye pillows from Love Mert (they're so soothing), delicate minimalist jewelry from Sheena Marshall (she’s a dear friend and incredibly talented), and beautiful works by Boulder artist Andrew Barker. Every piece in the shop has a story, and I feel honored to have a space to share my favorite things with you.

Longmont has been beyond welcoming. The community here is full of kindness and creativity, and I’ve met so many amazing small business owners and neighbors who have made this transition feel incredibly special. I’m lucky to be part of the Longmont Creative District—there are incredible  events that are planned for the upcoming months: art walks, live music, and community events that bring people together and let the town’s personality shine.

Some highlights from July? Honestly—just the rhythm of walking to work, brewing coffee, talking with people who stop by, and seeing how the shop is slowly becoming its own kind of gathering space.

If you haven’t made your way to the shop yet, I’d love for you to visit. Come smell some candles and take your time exploring my favorite things. Whether you’re local or just passing through, you’re always welcome here.

Thanks for being part of this new chapter. It means the world.
